About us

PCA is your Personal Colour Analysis - a process that determines colours to best enhance your natural features. The analysis places you into seasonal palettes based on these characteristics (skin, eyes and hair). The analysis guides wardrobe, makeup, and hair colour choices, helping you to look great and feel confident, harmonising personal style with natural beauty.

First Impressions count. Part of forming an impression is based on sight. Colours form a big part of what we see and colour is powerful. Harmony equals order and balance Identifying colours that complement our unique features simplifies shopping by guiding us to colours that will harmonise, creating a cohesive and stylish capsule wardrobe.

Our system is based on the science of natural colour harmony, using the Munsell colour system. It places each colour in its natural order in terms of Hue, Value and Chroma. Using the colours from nature we have 12 categories made up of 4 seasons plus 8 colour tones surrounding them. At Cu in Colour we are certified by True Colour International and use the advanced 12 TONE TCI Method.

The goal of your PCA is discover which colours best enhance your appearance. The PCA is done in my studio, with full spectrum lighting, neutral backdrop and draping with a wide range of colours. We will discover which one of the 12 categories contains your most flattering colours. Take with you A Personal Colour palette with 65 tonal hues.

Meet Dympna

I’m Dympna, living in Sydney, Australia.

Cu in Colour is my business where I consult with my clients in a Personal Colour Consultation to analyse and advise on colour, style, make-up, fashion items and accessories with the purpose of finding colours and style uniquely yours.

After a successful career as a Primary School Teacher and a Specialist Creative Arts Teacher, I decided to change direction and follow my dreams.

Always interested in Fashion, Style and Colour and an accomplished and qualified Designer, Patternmaker and Seamstress and known for advising on style, colour and creating garments, I decided to combine all my interests, skills and qualifications by blending my teaching expertise, artistic talent fashion and sewing skills together to qualify as a Colour Analyst and create Cu in Colour business.

In 2019 I became a Personal Colour Analyst with True Colour International, in the TCI 12 Tone Method.

After completing my training, as a certified and accredited Colour Analyst, I began the “Cu in Colour “ business.

Thanks so much Dympna. I thoroughly enjoyed our session. I did a rough edit and have nothing to wear! I was wondering about my 'white alternative' looking for an off white/cool cream colour. I expect that will be in the corporate palette? I was also wanting to order the A4 version of my 2 palettes if that's possible? I an struggling with cool eyeshadow colours right now. I now notice how many warm palettes there are!

Thank you so much. Mum was so impressed and had a lovely morning. What a gorgeous colour to be 😊 Take care.

Hi Dympna, Thank you for another informative and fun session! Shopping has begun and luckily, it turns out, lots of the soft summer palette for men this season!

Kind Regards, Jo and Peter

Thankyou so kindly Dympna! I had the best day and have already started putting my colours to work in my wardrobe and shopping.

Kind Regards, Michelle Hall

Thankyou Dympna Fine for me. Loving the compliments i am receiving with the new colours!!! Thankyou again Dympna for a great day with you. I do have to confess to colour envy at times as i adjust to the autumn tones.

Rhonda

Thankyou Dympna for a fabulous day, we loved seeing the transformations happening in the mirror. Thankyou also for your frank yet gentle feedback, very much appreciated by both of us.
